In my email I received an open “call for entries” for video submissions to a festival in London. I did not submit anything to the egoboo, but the various stringent requirements spurred my interest. The main requirement stated that all submissions had to be 2 minutes and 13 seconds and any submission longer or shorter would be disqualified. (Read the requirements below.) So I made a 2:13 scratchy video and sent it to Bob, Bob and Jack to use the video as a score for their independent soundtrack improvisations. When I received their mp3’s I made a sandwich of the soundtracks and badTV is the result. November 2008

Oh, sorry, not very nice not to comment, was it.

Well, I listened via headphones (it was 3:00am, as I recall) and Jack's drone seemed to be mixed hard-right (that is hell on headphones). My audio was mostly inaudible. Bobby was pretty much placed just right, I'd say. Same for your sounds. You set for yourself a near impossible task. I really like the concept of the four quadrants and the time offset. I think we should keep trying this.

So, yeah, I guess I didn't like it very much :

)smoke exhaled in blue is way cool. I just heard badTV over speakers. Much better that way (on headphones, the ear with him feels like a lead weight is tied to its earlobe, pulling one down into the soup). Nevertheless, I'd pan Jack toward center (a bit) and knock him down 5 or 6 db. He's too dominant in the mix. You could ride gain on him to give him the prominence at select times, but I think he's too present too much of the time. It's perfectly fine I'm inaudible much of the time. Part of that was by design (silences are present:)

Right, you didn't ask me. I'm a snot at times.

bad is "bad" = good
so is dome
as well as the others
